All your color palettes, one searchable Library
Bring your existing color collections together without moving or converting their files. Suisai indexes palettes in the folders where they already live, alongside your Mac's system color lists.
Search by palette name, swatch name, or actual color value. Find exact matches, similar shades, or variations of a hue across collections from different applications.
A native macOS color toolbox with no proprietary palette database, no account, and no subscription.
Your files, your organization
Suisai doesn't require you to import palettes into its own database. Simply add the folders where your collections already live, and the Library indexes supported palette files in place.
Work with Adobe Swatch Exchange (ASE), Photoshop Swatches (ACO), GIMP palettes (GPL), and macOS color lists (CLR). Give each watched folder a name within Suisai without renaming or reorganizing it in Finder.
Folders on external drives remain listed when disconnected, then become available again when the drive returns. Suisai can also follow folders you've moved, helping keep your collections organized without maintaining separate copies.
Your palettes remain your files, in locations you control.
Find a color, even when you've forgotten its name
Sometimes you remember a color but have no idea which palette it came from, or what you originally called it. Suisai lets you search by the color itself, finding matching shades across your entire Library without having to open each palette individually.
Suisai lets you search across your collections using HEX, RGB, HSL, or OKLCH values. You can also paste color expressions from supported code formats or drag a swatch directly into the search field.
Choose between three matching methods:
- Exact finds colors that are effectively indistinguishable.
- Close finds perceptually similar colors, using a ΔE tolerance.
- Same Hue finds related hues regardless of their lightness or saturation.
Matching palettes appear with the relevant swatches highlighted. For color-value searches, Suisai also displays the difference between the searched color and each result, helping you judge which matches are closest.
It's a practical way to rediscover colors across years of saved palettes without remembering what you originally called them or which project they came from.
You can also include CSS, SCSS, Sass, and Less stylesheets in watched folders. Suisai indexes files containing named color variables, making their colors searchable alongside your other palettes. Your original stylesheets remain untouched.
More than a list of palette files
Browse your collections in list or tile view, with visual previews that make palettes easy to recognize. Expand individual entries to inspect their colors, names, and values without opening a separate document.
Click a swatch to copy its value, drag it into an open palette, or send it directly to Suisai's Color Bench or contrast checker. Open palettes for editing, including in separate windows, so you can move colors between collections.
ASE, GPL, and CLR files can be opened and saved in their supported formats. ACO files can also be opened and edited, with changes saved as ASE, GPL, or CLR.
Whether you're revisiting an older project or assembling a new palette from existing work, your saved colors are ready to use.
Your palettes in the system color picker
Install a palette into the macOS system Colors folder and its colors become available to other applications that support the system color picker.
You don't need to keep Suisai running to use those palettes. They're stored where macOS expects to find them, using the native CLR color-list format.
Suisai also includes your Mac's existing system color lists in the Library, so those colors can be searched and reused alongside your own collections.
